Student Activities & Development Division (BAPP)

The Student Activities & Development Division (BAPP), formerly known as Galeria Siswa, serves as the core driver of student character development and holistic student experience at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). BAPP acts as a facilitator, advisor, and key coordinator in planning, supporting, and monitoring all student activities, including those organised by clubs and societies, the College Student Committees (JKM), as well as the Student Representative Council (MPP), which represents the entire UTM student community.

Our Vision

To become a dynamic and creative platform that empowers students to grow not only academically, but also in leadership, creativity, culture, social engagement, and personal well-being.

Our Mission

  • To manage and support major university programmes such as the Convocation Festival, Orientation Week, Campus Elections, and the Student Excellence Awards.

  • To provide competency development courses, including Association Management Courses and student leadership initiatives.

  • To create active student engagement spaces through community service programmes, sports and recreation, culture, and the arts.

  • To support regional and national collaboration opportunities, including participation in programmes such as the Malaysian University Cultural Council (MAKUM) and the Malaysian University Debating Council (MADUM).

Core Roles of BAPP

BAPP is more than an administrative body we are enablers and strategic partners for clubs and societies, JKM, and MPP at every stage of their activities. Our roles include:

  • Processing and approving student programmes.

  • Coordinating funding allocation and financial management for clubs and societies.

  • Collaborating with government agencies and external organisations, including the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and industry partners.

  • Expanding engagement networks through collaborative programmes beyond the university that create meaningful impact for students and the community.
