TIMELINE

Pusat Kesihatan Universiti (PKU) UTM was established in 1972 to provide medical care and health facilities to ensure the university’s community (students and staffs) health and well-being. During this time, the unit was managed by four medical doctors, a dentist and several other support staff and assisted by a trained clinical staff.

Beginning from September 1993, PKU UTM was officially recognized as a panel clinic for the UTM employees. Under this regulation, all UTM employees can have access to the PKU health and medical services. In addition, PKU UTM also provides facilities to perform services outside of the community such as students, workers and visitors, to private universities.

Providing quality and professional primary healthcare services to the UTM citizens to ensure their health is in good condition in accordance with the latest medical standards, towards improving the quality of life so that the UTM citizens can focus on learning, teaching, and research activities.

Goals

Recognized as an examplary university health centre (Pusat Kesihatan Universiti) and a reference to all Malaysian IPTs.
Provide patient care services, disease prevention and health promotion to the university residents.
Helping the UTM community to be in good health so that they can focus on learning, teaching and research activities at UTM.

Objectives

Provide patient treatment facilities through medical and dental clinic services.
Provide emergency treatment services through oncall, standby and ambulance activities.
Carry out infectious disease activities and non-infectious disease detection.
Carry out health promotion through educational activities and a healthy lifestyle.
Introducing the University to the community through community service activities.
