Petro\u00a0Academia:\u00a0Competition 101 is\u00a0a\u00a0talk exposure event which was conducted through\u00a0an online\u00a0platform (Cisco\u00a0WebEx) on 10th\u00a0March\u00a02021. This\u00a0Talk\u00a0event garnered a whopping number of\u00a0100\u00a0delegates mostly from the\u00a0School of Chemical Engineering, School of Mechanical\u00a0Engineering\u00a0and other faculties as well\u00a0all together in one roof.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For this interesting and exciting event our committee\u00a0has\u00a0invited\u00a0four\u00a0experienced\u00a0speakers\u00a0to give a talk\u00a0and\u00a0a short briefing\u00a0regarding\u00a0their experiences and tips to do well in\u00a0the respective\u00a0competition. This was aimed to boost our members\u2019\u00a0knowledge in every competition that going to conduct in upcoming weeks.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2) SPE-UTM SC Resume Talk<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

SPE-UTM SC Resume Talk<\/strong> was organized virtually on 16th March 2021<\/strong> aimed to introduce the best way to write the CV in order for the students to become an outstanding candidate among others. The event was participated by 152 students, mostly were Petroleum Engineering students.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Overall, the talk can be divided into two different sessions, the first session was focusing on personal branding on building a good resume while the second one was on technical skills in writing a great resume. The event started with the speaker asked the audiences to describe themselves by their strength. This is to engage the audiences to further acknowledgement about themselves simultaneously about what to put in the resume. Throughout this session, the aim was to escalate audiences’ passion in personal branding through LinkedIn to demonstrate excellent resume background. On the second half, there were the tips and tricks, and dos and don’ts for a resume. The speaker also shared examples of resume and how to keep it up-to-date to job seeking trend. Since many things are carried out virtually right now, there were also some tips on how to ace virtual interview to appeal to future employer more and how to reach them.<\/span><\/p>\n

From this event, the students able to learn and practice to write the perfect CV which would be really useful when applying for jobs as well as during the interview. This event served the students a supply pack for them to be well prepared before applying for job since it is the first impression by the recruiter. It has been an amazing opportunity and exposure for the students who will be graduating soon!<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Benchmarking with SPE PEM Akamigas<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On 20th March 2021, SPE PEM Akamigas SC had collaborated with SPE Universiti Teknologi Malaysia SC on “External Benchmarking Vol. 2” using Zoom online meeting platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In this event, both SPE’s officers were able to exchange their culture and ideas on how to run the organization. Officers were also expanded their network across the border even without meeting in real life. Typically, everyone learned from each others’ strength and weakness with solutions from different perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A ‘Kahoot’ session has been held to enhance the relationship between the officers with some ‘strange’ questions!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We hope to have another benchmarking event with SPE PEM Akamigas again!<\/span><\/p>\n

With the theme “The First Step”, we invited 2 speakers from PERTAMINA and Schlumberger to talk about what should students prepare to face the working world. They also describe the job description and challenges faced as a junior field engineer and process engineer. <\/span><\/p>\n

1) SPE-UTM SC CAREER WORKSHOP 2021<\/span><\/p>\n

This career workshop brought you two topics which are \u201c Your Network is Your Net Worth\u201d and \u201c Power Plan for Online Interview Success \u201c. The topics were presented by our guests of honor that night, Ms Ayu Shahirah Salem who is a software engineer at bp and Mr Patrick Tan Peng Jun who is the founder for DR Resume Services.<\/span><\/p>\n

This career workshop is aimed to encourage the participants to build a strong networking as life and work are all about relationships. Working in collaboration with others who have a good understanding will provide a stronger foundation, enabling us to reach a higher level of success than we would on our own. As the pandemic of COVID-19 is not over yet, many things have changed and all of us should adapt to the new norm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, this career workshop will support the students to be well prepared with essential skills that the recruiters would look for in their candidates.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) Resume Talk 2.0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On 8th April 2021, SPE-UTM SC has conducted a second virtual Resume Talk which is Resume Talk 2.0 through online platform (Cisco Webex Meetings). This event gathered a number of 85 participants mostly from Faculty of Engineering and other universities\u2019 students.<\/span><\/p>\n

We had invited Mr Han Jim Chua, a Talent Acquisition Manager from Schlumberger to share his advice and experience regarding job applications. Throughout this event, participants have learned to recognize three main points (Contribute – Impact – Quantify) in order to write a significant resume.<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Industry Forum<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On 10th of April 2021, SPE-UTM SC has conducted a virtual Industry Forum via online platform, Cisco Webex Meeting. The event had around 134 participants, with majority from Engineering courses.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The list of invited speakers includes three speakers. First was Miss. Lim Chia Wei, a Technical Sales Engineer at Schlumberger. The second speaker was Mr. Derek, a Completion Field Engineer at Schlumberger.\u00a0And finally, Mr. Camilo, project coordinator at UNAL with topics related to EOR, Stimulation, Fracturing & application of Nanotechnology in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the speakers highlighted their career path journey in the first session of the event, and then it was followed by a forum session, which has brought up some of the commonly asked questions in the Oil & Gas industry as well as those questions related to graduating students.<\/span><\/p>\n

4) Charity Month 2021<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On 6 May 2021, collected donations were sent to our beneficiaries, Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Nur Ehsan and Rumah Barkat Johor. We have finally completed one of the biggest events of SPE-UTM SC last month.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Throughout the event, our team had organized various activities to collect donations from the public such as virtual half-marathon, Ig photo contest, Tetris fundraising and charity e-sports. We received plentiful support in this charity events.\u00a0The purpose of this event is to raise social awareness towards the unfortunate ones. This activity also helps our youth to be grateful on what they have since there are needy individuals who are living less fortunate situations out there who need help from the society.<\/span><\/p>\n

This help can alleviate their burden to accommodate their daily life in more comfortable ways which able to eradicate the poor in our country from time to time.<\/span><\/p>\n

1) SPE-UTM SC INTELLECTUAL DAY 2021<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On 21st and 22nd of May 2021, SPE-UTM SC has conducted a virtual event via Zoom Meeting and Google Meet. The program has separated into 3 main parts which are Competitions, Software Workshop and Industrial Forum.<\/span><\/p>\n

The type of competitions being conducted are Oil Rig Design Competition, Petrobrain Competition and T-Navigator Competition while the software workshop was regarding T-Navigator Training Workshop.\u00a0Lastly, the industry forum was discussing about the industry outlook during COVID-19 by several professionals from industry and lead by a lecturer from university.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) SPE-UTM SC INDUSTRIAL ACADEMIA I<\/span><\/p>\n

SPE-UTM SC INDUSTRIAL ACADEMIA 1 2021 was held virtually on 7th May 2021 from 9 am to 11.45 am at which Cisco Webex was chosen as our platform where participants could join the event from their own places.\u00a0For the Cisco Webex, Dr Safwan Abd Aziz, a lecturer from Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) personal room was used as he has the premium account.<\/span><\/div>\n

This event was aimed to expose students to real-life situation that will prepare students for their future. It might help students to know more about the companies and the opportunities of working with different companies.\u00a0<\/span>Baker Hughes, a seasoned expert in the oil and gas industry, collaborated on this event. Baker Hughes develops and deploys cutting-edge technology for energy and industrial organisations seeking more efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The primary focus of this programme was on the principles of offshore work scope. The focused subject allowed students to obtain a better understanding of drilling, well completion, and the structure of an oil rig.<\/span><\/p>\n

3)\u00a0SPE-UTM SC INDUSTRIAL ACADEMIA II<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SPE-UTM SC held a virtual Industrial Academia 2 using Microsoft Teams on the 28th of May 2021. Around 116 engineers from diverse engineering degrees, including petroleum, chemical, and electrical, attended the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4) SPE-UTM SC COMPANY DAY 1<\/span><\/p>\n

On 8th of May 2021, SPE-UTM SC has conducted a virtual event via online platform, Cisco WebEx Meeting. The program has 2 main parts, which are Technical Talk and Career Talk.<\/span><\/p>\n

The speaker for the event is Mr Lingies Santhirasekaran, a reservoir engineer at ExxonMobil. Mr Lingies was also the Vice President for SPE UCSI University which won the Outstanding \/ Gold Standard Student Chapter award during his term.<\/span><\/p>\n

His background made him the perfect speaker for this event. Not only that, but we are also very honored to have the deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Dr Shamsul Bin Sahibuddin to officiate our program before the program starts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program started off by introduction of ExxonMobil\u2019s history, and current performance of the company in Malaysia. Next, the program proceeds to a Technical Talk session which covers Intelligent Well Completion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afterwards, the Mr Lingies gave some advice on job hunting skills and CV tips during Career Talk session. Lastly, after the Q&A session, we also had a Kahoot! session to make the program more interesting.<\/span><\/p>\n

5) MICROSOFT EXCEL WORKSHOP<\/span><\/p>\n

On the 28th of May 2021, SPE-UTM SC has organized Microsoft Excel Workshop 2021 which is held virtually through Cisco Webex meeting. This workshop was conducted almost 2 hours and 30 minutes. A total of 129 participants had joined in this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the attendees were UTM students and there were also students from other universities such as UKM, UTP, UITM, Quest International University and so on.\u00a0Besides engineering students, participants from various courses such as medical, business management, law and actuarial science had spent their time by joining in this event. There were also few graduates that attended in this workshop.<\/span><\/p>\n

The guest speaker who conducted this workshop was Mr.Elengeswaran C. Ehambaranathan and he is currently employed as a Planning and Capital Allocation Executive in Tenaga Nasional Berhad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The main scope of this event is to learn the basic skills and shortcuts to create proper spreadsheets and analysis by using Microsoft Excel.\u00a0In this case, participants would be able to understand the pattern in using simple arithmetic calculation to complex data analysis.<\/span><\/p>\n

MARCH:<\/h1>\r\n

SPE-UTM KEMAMAN SUPPLY(KSB) VISIT<\/h2>\r\nSPE-UTM SC KSB VISIT 2018<\/strong> was organized from 16th<\/sup> March 2018<\/strong> to 19th<\/sup> March 2018<\/strong> at Kemamaman Supply Base, Terengganu<\/strong> aimed to provide training and briefing for students about the tools and technologies that is currently being used in the oil and gas industry. The event was participated by 50 students, mostly from third year of Petroleum Engineering. Each students were equipped with basic Personal Protecting Equipments (PPE) such as coveralls and safety helmets, sponsored by the faculty (Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering), as well as safety shoes and safety glasses prepared by themselves.\r\n\r\nThe programme started off by visiting Geowell Sdn. Bhd., followed by Deleum Oilfield Services on the 17th<\/sup> of March. On the next day, the students visited Halliburton Energy Services and Daya Maxflo. On March 19th<\/sup>, after visiting Solar Alert, the students departed back to UTM.\r\n\r\nFrom this event, the students managed to have better understanding on wellheads, slicklines and wirelines equipments, etc. One thing all oil and gas company stressed on in common is \u201cSafety First\u201d, as there were safety briefing by each companies before the students tour around the warehouse. This definitely have changed the students\u2019 perspectives and views on safety in the petroleum industry. It has been an amazing opportunity for students who will be graduating and entering the industry soon. SPE-UTM SC INTELLECTUAL DAY<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nSPE-UTM INTELLECTUAL DAY (SID) was organized on 16 March 2018. The main purpose of this event is to educate and give exposure to all students about the latest information in the oil and gas industry in terms of technical, operational and other aspects through various competitions. In addition, it helps students to understand the challenges and crisis faced by the oil and gas industry, strengthens students\u2019 ability to solve problems critically and improving communication skills as well as teamwork.\r\n\r\nThe competitions held during SID 2018 were Petrobrain Competition (Open and First Year Category), Petra Energy Competition, Oil Rig Competition, and Photo Competition. The competitions were conducted and the objective of the program was achieved. The director of this program is Durgeswaaran A\/L Silvadam<\/strong>, second year student in degree of (Petroleum) engineering. The program was inaugurated by the Deputy President of SPE-UTM Student Chapter, Mr. Adi Najmi. The programme was attended by 65 participants, which 25 of them were non-SPE members, also excluding the committee members of 27 people.\r\n\r\nLast but not least, the event committee members hope that this programme can be hold annually to provide opportunities for students to engage in competition internally and globally.\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>\r\n

SPE-UTM GO GREEN<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

GOTONG ROYONG<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nSPE-UTM SC Go Green had been organized from 24 March 2018 to 14 April 2018 which aimed to educate and expose UTM students on the awareness on importance of clean environment. The director of this program was none other than Amin Azizi Bin Abd Talib<\/strong>, a second year student pursuing Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering.\r\n\r\nThe one month programme was packed with exciting activities. On 24 March 2018, Gotong-Royong in Bandar Hutan Mutiara Rini<\/strong> in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri (MBIP) had been conducted successfully by the committee with the help of a few SPE-UTM officers.\r\n\r\nOn March 25th, the Earth Hour at UTM Batallion<\/strong> managed to gather 60 participants. With the help from UTM management, the street lights along the residential colleges in the university campus were switched off. A walking tour was conducted and lead by the committees to tour around UTM with recycled lanterns.\r\n\r\nA Mangrove Planting programme had been successfully organised at Tanjung Piai National Park<\/strong> on April 14th. A total number of 32 mangrove plants were bought from the donation given by the public as well as students. These plants were then planted by the GO Green committees in the swamp area at Tanjung Piai National Park.\r\n\r\nStudents involved in all the activities conducted can realised about the importance of nature to the surrounding and how to maintain it.\u00a0 Above all, this program had created love towards the nature among all participants. SPE-UTM SC ENTREPRENEUR CARNIVAL<\/h2>\r\nSPE-UTM Entrepreneur Carnival 2018 was organised last month on 21 st April at L50, UTM<\/strong>.\r\nThe director of this event was Lavinesh A\/L Manimaran<\/strong>, a second year UTM student who is\r\nstudying Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering. This event was participated by nearly 100\r\npeople, including vendors and visitors.\r\n\r\nThe main purpose of this event is to provide a platform for those 4 th year student who are\r\ntaking entrepreneur subject to learn how to manage a business. Student vendors of this event\r\nare petroleum engineering and accounting students. Other than that, organizing committees of\r\nthis event have improved their communication skills when dealing with vendors from outside\r\nUTM.\r\n\r\nAs the director of SPE-UTM SC Entrepreneurship Carnival 2018, Lavinesh hope that all\r\ncommittees and student vendors who involved in this event can get the benefits in terms of\r\nknowledge.\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>\r\n\r\n \r\n

SPE-UTM SC CHARITY MONTH<\/h2>\r\nSPE Charity Month\u00a0 2018<\/strong> was organized from 7th<\/sup> April 2018<\/strong> to 5th<\/sup> May 2018<\/strong> with a charity purpose. There were four sub-events under it which were Food Bank Delivery, Fluorescent Night Run 2.0, Children Ward Visit and Indigenous Village Project. Firstly, Food Bank Delivery is conducted on 7th April in collaboration with Kechara Soup Kitchen.\u00a0 This program also involved the Tesco Food surplus distribution to the poor family with the help of the committee and co-organizer, the event went smoothly.\r\n\r\nNext, as a continuity to last year Choco Night Run, the second sub-event of SPE Charity Month if Fluorescent Night Run 2.0 based on the fluorescent theme obviously. The run was a huge success as there was about 900 participants registered for the run. The participants were provided with glowing t-shirt, glowing face paint, glow sticks, glowing wristbands upon registration at Dataran L50.\r\n\r\nFuthermore, the third sub-event of SPE Charity Month is Children Ward Visit at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru. A lot of fun activities was done by committees to brighten up the children's day which included coloring contest, dancing session, crafting sessions, photo session and goodies bag distribution to kids.\r\n\r\nLast but not least, Indigenous Village Project at Kampung Teluk Jawa was successfully organised by SPE Charity Month 2018. More than 30 committees participated in this programme to make this event a success. The committees has visited Kampung Teluk Jawa and distributed the basic necessities things like rice, cooking oil, onions, sardine tins and many more to approximately 37 families.They also conducted few games to create mutual bond with the adults and kids over there. Besides, committees has also carried out 'Gotong Royong' which was cleaning the surrounding area of the village with the help of the people there. Food was served to the villagers by committees.\r\n

SPE-UTM SC INDUSTRIAL ACADEMIA<\/h3>\r\nSPE-UTM SC INDUSTRIAL Academia 1 was organized by SPE-UTM Student Chapter on\r\nMay 2, 2018 involving tours to 2 different companies, which are ConocoPhillips Malaysia\r\nLtd. located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and Jimah Power Plant located in Port Dickson,\r\nNegeri Sembilan. This study tours aims to expose students to the oil and gas companies\r\nleading in Malaysia as well as other industry-related field of engineering in the country\r\nbesides increasing their knowledge of the latest technologies in the oil and gas industry.\r\n\r\nThedirector of this program is MUHAMMAD FARHAN BIN DAHALAN, who is pursuing a\r\nBachelor of Engineering (Petroleum). This program was attended by 28 participants\r\nincluding members of the program and committees. The first session of the programme was\r\nwith ConocoPhillips Malaysia Ltd. at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The briefing was\r\ndelivered by the ConocoPhillips management which students gained some insights about\r\nindustrial training in ConocoPhillips. The next session in the afternoon was with Edra Power\r\nHoldings Co. Ltd. located in Jimah Power Plant, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.\r\n\r\nBesides a sharing session by the engineers of Edra Power Holdings Co., Ltd., the students also had the\r\nopportunity to visit the area around the power plant. Students managed to take a closer look\r\nat how fired power plant works and operates. Although Jimah Power Plant is not an oil and\r\ngas companies but this exposure is very important for students to recognize other industries\r\nrelated to engineering. SPE-UTM COMPANY DAY 2<\/h2>\r\nSPE-UTM Company Day 2 2018<\/strong> was organized on 18 May 2018 to give exposure to students on the technology in oil and gas industry and to build a good relationship with the oil and gas company in Malaysia. In this event, SPE-UTM Student Chapter collaborated with Deleum Berhad, which is an investment holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Deleum Berhad provides a diversed range of supporting specialised products and services to the oil and gas industry, particularly in the exploration and production sector. Two representatives from Deleum Berhad have been invited as speakers of this event which are En. Anwarudin and En.Yusri.\r\n\r\nAbout 100 participants have attended this event, mostly students from petroleum engineering course. This event was divided into two sessions. During the first session, En.Yusri and En.Anwarudin explained the background of the company and the career prospects in oil and gas industry. Second session is the *mock interview<\/em><\/strong> session. In this session, the students have been given tips on how to excel in a job interview.\r\n\r\nFrom this event, the students managed to have a good relationship with the company men and\u00a0 a better understanding towards the oil and gas industry. This event also helps the students to improve their soft skill and to be more proactive.\r\n

SEPTEMBER:<\/h1>\r\n

MOBILITY PROGRAM<\/h3>\r\nThrowback to many moments of this programme, organized from 15th September 2018 to 20th September 2018. This is our first Global Outreach Programme to Jakarta, Indonesia and 16 students participated in the programme.\r\n\r\nThis mobility program aimed to introduce Carbon Technology Catchment and Sequestration under School of Chemical and Engineering has been a success. However, green technology is still new to both universities thus there are lack of knowledge sharing acquired from this program. Also, this program has been extremely critical for SPE-UTM SC as it shows us interesting solutions to escape our current stale state. I believe this knowledge and experience transfer will be able to lift SPE-UTM SC to a greater height. Networking and benchmarking session with both universities was a fruitful one. Lead communicators from each university gave great insights and revelations on rising factors in a society and come out with effective solutions for the problems. This session has been very helpful for UTM students in gaining effective communication skills and strategies in achieving organizational and student goal. This engagement delivers highly effective communication skills and improves the interpersonal skills of UTM participants. We believed this GOP has helped us unlock the potential of our future engineers and leaders where they can lead with greater clarity and purpose. FAMILY DAY<\/h3>\r\nLove the Earth, Love the People Day 2018 was held in Desaru Beach on 22 September 2018. This event involved 121 participant including the committees consisting of local and international students. This was aimed to improve relationship between students beside encourage students to participate in sports.\r\n\r\nThe tentative of this event involve group activities and individual activities. QURBAN CHARITY<\/h3>\r\nSPE-U TM SC Qurban Charity 2018 was held in Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Mutiara Rini on 2October 2018. This event was participated by 142 year 6 students all from SK Taman MutiaraRini. Not missing this opportunity, SPE-UTM SC have sent 13 students to be the facilitators consisting of year 3 petroleum engineering students to be a part of this programme. This was aimed to boost our members\u2019 personal development as well as allowing them to gain new knowledge. This event was held in conjuction with Hari Raya Aidil Adha to educate the students on the proper way of slaughtering poultry and a feast was carried out among the committee and the students. At the same time, students are also exposed to UTM and how SPE-UTM works. YOUNG PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK<\/h3>\r\nSPE-UTM SC YOUNG PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK 2018 was organized from 5th October 2018 to 13th October 2018 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai aimed to provide knowledge and experience for students about how the working life as an engineer upon graduation. They were exposed on how to involve in oil and gas industry in future. The program started with first subevent, Excel Development Workshop on 5th October 2018 at School of Chemical and Energy Engineering and followed by Professional Talk by Alahdal A. Hussein from T7 Global Bhd on 6th October 2018 at DSM KTHO. Third subevent was Resume and Sharing Session on 9th October 2018 which was conducted by Boshkiran Segar and Sakesh Raj Narajah from alumni UTM. The fourth subevent which was Women Empowerment Workshop was held on 13th October 2018 and conducted by Madam Hanini bt Mohd Rudi from Nini Rudi Premium. The last subevent was Elite Team Workshop which being held on the afternoon of 13th October 2018. This workshop was conducted by Pavidra, Kumaresan and Beng to brief about the Petrobrain, Paper and Oil Rig competition. From this event, the students managed to have better understanding on how the industry oil and gas work and the importance of Microsoft Excel in the working world. They also got to know\r\nhow to make the perfect resume and for the women, they got a lot of knowledge on how to survive in the males\u2019 dominated industry. SUMMER INTERN SHARING SESSION<\/h3>\r\nSPE- UTM SC SUMMER INTERN SHARING SESSION 2018 was organized on 6 OCTOBER 2018 at DEWAN SRI MERBAU, KOLEJ TUN HUSSEIN ONN, UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGY MALAYSIA aimed to provide students especially third year students about the internship program. The speeches was given by fourth year students who have just completed their internship during the semester break. This event was participated by more than 100 students from various courses. The event started by speech from MS NUR IZZATI HIDAYAH who completed her internship at SCHLUMBERGER, followed by MR DINESH RAMAMURTHY from SPE ASIA PACIFIC, MR MUNISRAO KRISHNAPPARAO from BASF PETRONAS CHEMICALS, and MS RAJA JOHANNES from MURPHY. They talked about the skills and knowledge they have gained through the internship in 12 weeks, quality that an intern should have, what they do as an intern and what the other permanent staff do. They also shared about their lifestyle, working environment, and their experience during the internship. Apart from that, few booths has been set up by the 4thyear students to exhibit about their intern company and share more details with the other junior students. More information was gained by the students about the internship such as how to choose wisely to do their internship and also what will be the process to enter a company for internship. From the event students have better understanding about internship that has to be completed at the end of the third year. OIL AND GAS FESTIVAL 2018<\/h3>\r\nOil and Gas Festival 2018 (OGFEST\u201918) was a major event that has been organized by Society of Petroleum Engineers Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Student Chapter (SPE-UTM SC) from 16th October until 18th October 2018 with the theme of \u2018Energising Future Engineers\u2019 as an\r\nincentive to promote Johor as the future of oil and gas hub globally. It has brought a future outlook for the students and industry where it has been great for industry to plan for upcoming quarters through innovations by young future engineer. Basically, this event consisted of many sub-events such as professional talk, technical talk, competitions, exhibition, panel session and workshop which involved many oil and gas companies in Malaysia. The competition itself had total of six competitions which were Petrobrain Competition, Oil Rig Design Competition and Paper Presentation Competition, Energy Debate Competition, Power Plant Design Competition and Photo Contest opened for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from all over the\r\nworld.\r\n\r\nOGFEST\u201918 also managed to be sponsored by oil and gas companies such as Repsol Oil &amp; Gas Malaysia Limited, ConocoPhillips Asia Pacific Sdn. Participants had walked in to see our powerful exhibitors such as Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited, Schlumberger WTA (M) Sdn.Bhd., Setegap Venture Petroleum Sdn. Bhd., Aker Solutions and SPE-UTM SC. Besides, the participation from international and local university was very tremendous as we had received 200 participants from 5 countries. In addition, this year we had a massive collaboration with other societies in UTM such as Persatuan Teknomarin (SKMO), Gas Engineering Student Society(GESS), The Institution of Engineers Malaysia UTM Student Section (IEM-UTM SS) and UTM Toastmasters Club.\r\n\r\nLast but not least, heartiest congratulations to winners from UTM students. Chuah Kai Jie emerged as CHAMPION in Paper Competition. PDCC & PGSC 2018<\/h3>\r\nPDCC & PGSC 2018 visit was held in KLCC and PETRONAS Geo Sample Centre in Taman Keramat on 26th October 2018. The event was participated by 36 members of SPE-UTM Student Chapter. The first stop of the visit was Petronas Digital Collaboration Centre (PGSC) at KLCC. PGSC is a centre which houses real time Drilling Operations and Monitoring (DOMC) data review facility with secured geo-computing architecture and 3D visualization with stereoscopic screens and visualizer. Here, students witness a collaborative working environment where the technical team of Petronas makes real-time decision to solve complex challenges in exploration and Production (E&P) operations. The second stop of the visit, which is Petronas Geo Sample Centre (PGSC), designed for a long-term preservation and library of the geo-samples. These geo-samples will help maximize value through management of uncertainties, cost effective and value adding field development plans as well as innovative technology application. In PGSC students were given the opportunities to visit the room which all geo-samples are keep and secured properly. In summary, this visit offers a path for young engineers to gain technical\r\ncapabilities through a collaborative working environment with hands-on exposure from technical professionals.
