On 19th October 2019 (Saturday), IEM UTM STUDENT SECTION had sent participants to Volunteer with ALM. This event was held at Selangor and was joined by 28 participants. IEM UTM and Green DNA UTM joined ALM for cooperate sustainability program where the participants were introduced the method of using decomposer as fertilizer.
Summary of the event :
- Learn about the making of fertilizer from decompose with the help of microbe which shorten the time of decomposing from 3 months to 3 weeks.
- Learn about the planting rules where some vegetables seeds can be spread randomly while some must have specific spacing between one another.
- Learn how to get income from a small community garden .
- Walk around the garden and learn the names of the vegetables and fruits.
- Breakfast with the management team and get the contact of them for future event use.
- Chat with the workers in the ALM and get the information about how to apply internship and what is the procedure.
- Chit-chatting with the elders about how they fill their time in the garden and the support from MBPJ and Air Liquide Malaysia.
