Spring School & Summer School
Summer School / Spring School
Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, SS14 Program will be fully run as a Virtual Summer School with reduced fee. We will ensure all Programs including the Lectures, Virtual Tours, Group Discussions & Presentations are run as interactive as possible.
Program Overview:
It is a two-week or three-week program that is usually held during the Spring season and summer season. It focuses on the United Nation’s SDG Goal 11 which is Sustainable Communities and Cities. This short course shares the low carbon actions including enabling green policies and sustainable green technologies for major sectors and demonstrates the measures and monitoring tools for managing climate change, in order to leapfrog the green growth in Iskandar Malaysia and other Asian cities. Students who participate in this program will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge in this field and are able to develop essential soft skills.
Program Objectives:
It was aimed to share low-carbon actions and knowledge such as enabling green policies and sustainable green technologies for the development in Asia. Implementing sustainable practices to ensure green growth in Asia is critical as Asia has many fast-growing cities and is regarded as the world’s factory. Despite the enormous knowledge generated, there are still gaps for real actions to be implemented in developing countries at a desirable pace. There is an urgent need of integrating diverse stakeholders, including academicians, policymakers, local authorities, and business entities, to implement the low- carbon real actions on the ground.
