Who is eligible to receive services at the UTM Counselling Centre?

Undergraduate and Postgraduate students who are currently enrolled as full or part time study, staff and community may utilize the services.

Are the counselling sessions confidential?

Yes. All sessions are private and confidential, except in cases where there is a risk to your safety or the safety of others.

How do I set up an appointment?

Appointment can be made through MyUTM Portal

You may kindly contact counselor personally or contact our Admin

How long is a counselling session?

A typical session lasts around 45 to 60 minutes, depending on your needs.

I’m feeling overwhelmed but not sure how to talk about it. What should I do?

That’s okay. Our counsellors are trained to help you feel comfortable and guide the conversation in a safe and supportive environment.

Are counselling sessions available ?

Yes. We offer both face-to-face and online sessions, based on your comfort and convenience.

Are there any mental health awareness programmes or workshops?

Yes. We regularly organize talks, workshops, and mental health awareness campaigns throughout the year.

How many sessions am I allowed to attend?

There is no fixed limit, but the number of sessions depends on your personal needs and the counsellor’s recommendation.

What issues can I talk about during counselling?

You can talk about anything that affects your well-being, including:

  • Academic stress

  • Family or relationship issues

  • Time management

  • Homesickness

  • Grief or loss

  • Self-confidence

  • Mental health concerns like anxiety or depression
